Wooden bowls response

My response to this story is that our parents are an important part of our family. They bought us into this world with love and understanding, they went through a lot of pain to bring us up and showed a lot of patience and understanding while doing so. They stayed up all nights to take care of us when we were babies and never complained, when we are embarrassed of them, they took it in and still loved us no matter what we do or say.
In C.A.R.E.S, I relate this to empathy because when the four year old said to his father that he was going to make a wooden bowl for him when he would be old, the father was shocked and sad .But then he stopped to think, is this what my father feels? and he realized that he may be in the same position years later.

The lesson of the story is that you should treat your parents with the respect and love that they deserve and never complain about them when they are old and fragile. Your parents love you and you should love them back equally. You should never abandon them into retirement homes like discard them like a used shoe. They helped you and you were younger and when their in a time of need, then you should do the same and repay the favor. Plus, years later when your old and fragile, your children would help you like you helped your parents in their time of need.
