Stories, People & Places

Reza Or

.This is about a photographer named Reza Or who was born in Iran, he found AINA, Afghan media and culture center. His life was in the war torn Iran during the 60s to 70s, his heroes in life are the people he meets everyday, such as a girl he saw selling her dolls to support her family in war torn North Africa. He sleeps 2 hours per day because it gives him a good feeling in the morning. He uses any camera he has, he says it is a tool, but the real beauty is in how you capture it. He has visited over 110 countries, and the best he has ever visited is the people he is around no matter which country. At the age of 16 he was beaten up for breaking the law for publishing his own magazine for children called the PARVAZ(During that time, it was ruled by  the Shah, who forbid people for publishing their own views to the public) When he went back home, he thought that his dad would be mad at him. But instead, his dad said "If you believe something is right, then go for it." His magazine is still selling in Iran. The interest in the job was to capture the life and beauty of his surroundings, and to share the pictures with the world. And I would not be interested in this job, instead I would be an astronaut because it is my life's dream and I am interested in science.
